Homeless and sick more important than a dog or a church
Author: Rosa Maria YoungIt is hard and discouraging to realize that with all the problems the USA has the American media is writing articles about the dog the Obamas just got or for that matter to which church they are going to go tomorrow. But of course this has been encouraged by the presidential press office. Give the people some bits of silly information and they will get distracted from the harsh truths of their daily life in the USA such as:
-American soldiers are fighting, getting injured and dying in two wars.
-The American government is apparently unable to do something about the Somali piracy in the Gulf of Aden and Indian Ocean. How come nobody did something more than just sending ships before we reached the point of having to endanger lives because now there is one American hostage? Was somebody sleeping at the helm or we did not care because other hostages were not Americans?
-What about all those homeless people, specially the families that have to sleep in their cars or under bridges?
-There are people unable to take care of their health and dying for lack of money to pay for their treatment.
And so much more… And we are worrying about a dog which is not even being rescued from a shelter of unwanted dogs.
Speaking about which church, my opinion is that it is good that the Obamas have decided to go to church if so they wish but, why advertised it? Who really cares to which church they go to? And if this a secular government, we don’t even need to know.
