No more blaming, please
Author: Rosa Maria YoungThe whole world knows that when Barack Obama was inaugurated president he arrived to the Oval Office to find severe problems left by his predecessor. But Obama has already been president for one year and things have not improved. Many of the problems that people are more concerned about, like unemployment, have become worse. And many promises have been ignored or put in the back burner, think health care and Guantanamo as two of them. And yet, using it as a defensive way, Obama continues blaming the Bush administration, as he did in the State of the Union address when he reminded the nation yet again that he had inherited a mountain of problems. This past Monday, while unveiling the $3.8 trillion budget he had to admit that America’s deficit would reach record levels this year – nearly $1.6 trillion, far more that the White House predicted last year. And of course, he could not stop himself blaming these extraordinary levels of debt on his predecessor’s profligacy. Mr President, with all due respect, the country’s government belongs to you now with failures and improvements.
