It is rather curious to see how some countries attract the attention of the world, sometimes in a positive way, some times in a negative way. One could say that what happens in them, specially what happens to the lives of the civilians in those countries is left to the whim of a few powerful nations which can decide to help or not in case of revolts that many times become horrific. Does anyone know what is going on in Libya? It seems as if all we are getting is disinformation from all sides. When one sees the confusion and the chaos not only in Libya but also among the reports of the coalition it is hard to believe anything. While the US president is running into trouble in his own country for not having consulted Congress before getting involved in the military campaign over Libya and his lack of explanations to the American people about what that military intervention implies, the British Prime Minister David Cameron has made a direct appeal to Parliament and outlined the reasons why Britain intervened in Libya and why he is putting the British army in harm’s way. And now what? Yesterday the UN Security Council authorised a no-fly zone over Libya and “all necessary measure” to prevent the Gaddafi regime from striking the rebels and whatever civilians are on the way. Of all the countries that voted, Britain and France were the ones with a more aggressive attitude. Britain announced that it would send fighter jets and France was planning to deploy planes.
