Haiti suffers again
One of the worst earthquakes to hit the Caribbean region struck Haiti Tuesday afternoon. With a magnitude estimated at 7.0, it leveled shantytown dwellings as well as causing the collapse of the National Palace. It seems nobody was spared. Read the rest of this entry »

Buying and selling body scanners…
We began the year talking about body scanners. Terrorism was in our minds but the scanners,in many of the gatherings, were far more fun to talk about. Then we began thinking and realized that, if the US was able to influence governments around the world to buy and install them, most of us would have to go through one of those machines and the fun in many cases stopped. Resolutions for 2010
As we entered a new year, a new decade, we celebrated for a short time on New Year’s Eve making resolutions and wishing that 2010 would be a much better year than the one we just left behind. For a world free of landmines
In 1997 many in the world heard about landmines and their devastating effect because Princess Diana, after a visit to Angola to see some of the victims of these landmines, called for an international ban on them. GPS in Dutch roads
From the Netherlands an interesting new project in Europe (Singapore is introducing a similar plan in 2010) to end chronic traffic jams and with the added benefit of cutting carbon emissions. The Copenhagen Conference on Climate Change

First abortions, now mammograms…
Well, I don’t want to make a feminist blog out of KeyboardPolitics but lately some of the news are involving women too much to just ignore it.
