In the UK there is a lot of expectation about the treatment he will receive by the Obama administration. This past weekend marked 22 years since the Soviet troops began leaving Afghanistan after eight years of occupation. The US and the coalition forces should be aware of that and hope that history does not repeat itself. The ancient Soviet Republic of Kyrgyzstan became independent in 1991. Since then political stability has been elusive and corruption a normal thing in the government.
