Today as bells tolled throughout New York City and mourners observed the moment in silence, people honored the nearly 3,000 nationals of over 90 countries who died in the terrorist attacks in New York, Washington and Pennsylvania. This morning I was sitting with some friends at a café just overlooking the today tranquil turquoise water of the Mediterranean when one of my friends asked, “Who knows which day is today?” After a couple of seconds of silence, she laughed and said, “Don’t worry, I did not know either. After all that was written for and against the possibility of Caroline Kennedy becoming the next US senator for New York, the post just left vacant by Hillary Clinton, we can forget about it.
