The weekend started in the United States with the shock of the loss of the 2016 Olympic Games for Chicago and the report of the September job losses which were higher than expected, barely missing the double digit figure. This was really not good for President Obama who had gone to the trouble of traveling to Copenhagen to made a speech with which to clinch the games for his adoptive city. Just a short while ago, with some 100 heads of state gathered at the United Nations, a conference on combating climate change was opened by Ban Ki-moon, the United Nations secretary general. Today as bells tolled throughout New York City and mourners observed the moment in silence, people honored the nearly 3,000 nationals of over 90 countries who died in the terrorist attacks in New York, Washington and Pennsylvania.
